About Me: The "Mama Bird"
After 28 wonderful, crazy years of marriage, two beautiful daughters, and a collection of memories to last a lifetime, the day has finally arrived that our nest is officially...empty. Yes, both our little birds, Brianna & Emily, have taken flight, headed east, and landed in Scottsdale, Arizona. Though our nest is empty, our hearts are filled with joy as we stand back and watch both girls grow and flourish as independent, young, vibrant Christian women. As one chapter in our lives comes to a bittersweet close, a bright new one for John & I begins. Thank you Lord, for your unending faithfulness. We can't wait to see what you have in store for us now. Our jouney ahead as parents of two grown children has begun, and we are excited to start this new chapter in our lives!

We met in college in 1979, fell in love and were married on June 12, 1981. We welcomed our first daughter, Brianna, into our family September 4, 1982 and our family was complete with the birth of our second daughter, Emily, on May 15, 1988. Twenty eight years later we remain hopelessly devoted to each other and just recently renewed our wedding vows with our children, adorable grandchildren ( Isabella & Tyler) and close family & friends as witnesses.
I love your new blog! I am itching to get one started, but do not know how. Your girls' blogs are so professional looking and so is yours. I need a tutor! I have so enjoyed your daughter's blogs and now yours. You have so much to share, Sharon! You are filled with Godly wisdom, have been a most creative mom (share tips and things that worked in your family), a fabulous wife who has worked to keep her marriage fresh and passionate (share tips), been a professional mentor with terrific nursing experience -- share stories, you keep a beautiful home -- tips that help make your spaces work and how to's, books you are reading, scripture that has met a daily need. ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful colllection of stories on your blog! Your storires are the most beautiful love stories. You inspire me and prepare me for what is coming with our daughter. Your strength is wonderful and of course it helps to have the love and support of John and your friends. I know you refer to this stage as the empty nest stage, but I know how close you are to Brianna and Emily and I know that you will be the first they contact at every stage in their lives despite the distance.
